I checked them on gumtree.com.au Link to "www.gumtree.com.au" The plates are real, there is only one digit removed. So I tried all the combinations from 0-9 (in the case of the Toyota HiAce there are 4 identical vehicles corresponding, so I chose the first one) |

@AleX_DJ - just wondering what website do you use for Ford VINs? Also how did you figure out there was a digit removed from all the plates, without knowing the format of Tasmanian plates? Even I wouldn't have guessed that... -- Last edit: 2023-06-24 15:15:49 |

For Ford VINs I use https://www.vindecoderz.com/ which returns the full Ford build sheets, also for older vehicles. For what regards the Tasman plates, I had already checked other ones here and I knew that the format is made of letter-2 digits-2 letters. I sourced the info from wikipedia |

For US Ford it works as far as I know, for example https://www.vindecoderz.com/EN/check-lookup/1FDJE34MXPHB87176 Australian Ford don't work indeed, I've googled some solutions but it seems that the only way so far is to send an e-mail to Ford Australia asking for a full build sheet  |

@AleX_DJ - doesn't work on these US built (Australian delivered) Fords: 2019 Mustang (1FA6P8NF0L5101778), 1998 Explorer (1FMZU34E4WZA65629) for example. Also doesn't seem to work on Japanese-built Fords (Laser, Econovan etc), nor South African built Fords with VINs starting in "A". -- Last edit: 2023-06-24 17:17:25 |
