I think a separate sub-model,the steering parts and other mechanical items are probably unique to that version?? (Plus much of the sheetmetal) |

It is certainly not a 1939 Ford COE : those had the oval tonneau front end introduced in 1938.It may be a 1940 to 1947 Ford Cab Over Engine unit since this style was resumed after the war until the launch of the new F series in january 1948.COE Fords had a reinforced front axle, half elliptic springs at the front and the V8 engine placed rearwards with inside access between the two seats.Steering parts were adapted , and forward curving gear kever and hand brake lever were placed between the seats. They were available as short wheelbase chassis for tractor use or as longer chassis for truck bodies ( 3,4 to 4,0 m).Some cabins as the one here had 2 lateral windows. |
