is that a Hooper body? |

Silver Dawn? could be Hooper |

not a Silver Dawn, a Silver Dawn would be shorter, more likely a Silver Wraith, is the blue car in the four pictures the same car? Can we have a better picture of the back quarter window? the top profile of the back quarter light is not very clear, It is interesting that the rear door does not open from the center, Hoopers seems to have more center opening rear doors, but I found James Youngs with rear door opening from the C pillar |

I also think it is a Wraith with Hooper Empress body. |

Yes, this is a Hooper Empress Link to "www.rrec.co.uk" |

I still think, this is a Dawn, not a Wraith due to - headlights - Silver Wraith headlights looks like this: Link to "files.conceptcarz.com" and door handles - all of the Silver Wraiths Hoopers I found have rear doors suicidals... Juergen? |

some Silver Wraiths have headlights that are faired into the front fender Link to "frankdale.com" , www.atwellwilson.org.uk/images/large/RollsRoyceSilverWraithLimo_450.jpg, http://www.1motormart.com/gallery/55rr01.jpg probably because by the early fifties, Lucas decided to not make the P100 headlights |

looks like a James Young Seven Passenger Touring Limousine design WRM35, with the round topped rear quarterlight and the normal openning doors,H.J.Mulliner favoured suicide doors an Park Wards seemed to have longer tails. Dalton Lawrence, Rolls Royce Elegence Continues, pg. 238 |

Hooper Empress have angular ( razor edge ) back quarterlights and rear suicide doors. why are they called suicide doors? |
◊ 2007-01-21 11:40 |
Because of the dangers that they represent: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suicide_door -- Last edit: 2007-01-21 11:41:08 |

She is a LWB Silver Wraith with body by Freestone & Webb (very similar to Hooper's Empress Line, but it isn't) |

There's a nice Rolls-Royce featured in the film Withnail and I (that I WILL make captures for when I get my DVD back), that must have a Hooper body, it has big yellow bits on the sides and swooping lines, though I don't know what year or exact model it is or anything, I will add it when my friend returns from Fiji, he has it at his house. I always wondered what it was since it looked a lot different from a Silver Cloud or one of the Phantom Series. -- Last edit: 2007-01-25 14:50:08 |

yes Freestone & Webb, 1954? |
◊ 2007-02-02 09:34 |
Yes, she should be born during the early to mid-1950's, bnut not ealier nor later. 1954 could be right. |

This chassis #DLW44, reg'd PLK936, a Freestone & Webb limousine to design 3171/A. A hint to amateur sleuths: the bumper is the clue, only F&W used this type of bumpers. |
