This should be classified as a background vehicle.

Very background. Half of star. ;)

Yes, but it belongs to a character

Need an extra rating in the star system for "Very background, but it's a SAAB" ;)

We need something else here - the discussion, what models are worth to be affiliated in the category "Very background, but it's a xxx" I think, every IMCDB-member can contribute specific examples.

Summary of what happened:
- some new unknown member says the car is 1-star instead of 2-star (sorry Reelcheeper :D)
- the role is changed
- the car is considered as too background
luckily it is a Saab 900 and not a Toyota Camry, else it would already have been deleted.
As Walter said, the car belongs to a character, the woman in red seen on the picture. In this scene she goes in the car and starts the engine... I listed that as 2-star car. The only problem is that no more than that of the car is seen (what I described is not seen, just heard). So that may make the car fall in 1-star category. But for sure it has a role and should be listed (and I do not say that only because it is a Saab :p)
Rather 1-and-a-half star then.

By your description it's obviously 2 stars.

Maby little bit provocative: is this star-system really so important, that it's worth to release so many discussions from time to time? Obviously it's quite relevant for several people here.

It more or less gives an indication of how long the car is seen on screen, which may be useful. People search for movies with a particular model will be first interested in movies in which the car is more seen/used. Also, in the future cars may be filtered/sorted on that basis: there are too many cars in some movies/makes/models, so by default those with the highest rating would be displayed first.
But often the limit between two ratings is difficult to set.

I just saw this movie and this scene on TV today, and both my wife and me said "a 900!".

The fact that we recognise this car by only seeing less than 5% of it is worth a listing.
