I think it's hilarious that Halicki used a Bricklin SV in this fashion...SV stands for "Safety Vehicle", and it was designed to be the safest car in the world...Bricklin must have SCREAMED when he saw the film!!! ![]() |

It would have been sold at auction several years back when Halicki's widow Denice sold the entire collection off to pay the legal bills for securing the rights to Halicki's films after probate. Who knows where it's ended-up! |

A fellow from California (who claimed to have bought the car from the Halicki estate) had it for sale in 2014 for $6,400, in decent (drivable) original condition, with claimed documentation. The car also still wears the unique black center stripe, which Halicki added to the car. The car was Bricklin #0057, a Safety Red 1974 car with the AMC 360 V8 and a Chrysler Torqueflite automatic transmission. Some photos of the car for sale in LA in 1979, presumably prior to Halicki acquiring it: http://bricklin-sv-1-build-history.com/photo_1.html -- Last edit: 2016-08-04 04:21:28 |

Halicki had purchased the safety red Bricklin used at T-Auto Sales back in January of 1979 prior to filming The Junkman. The Bricklin's vehicle idenification number is actually 00041AA4S000057 which makes it a 1974 model with AMC/Chrysler 360 engine with a automatic Chrysler Torqueflite Transmission. Here are some pictures of the Bricklin at T-Auto Sales back in January of 1979 prior to Halicki purchasing it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
