Sidelights just about visible so after late 49. More Hurricanes made (2450 from Nov 45) than Typhoons (1703 from Aug 46), but very few went to Aus - apparently only 45 Hurricanes (with 17 survivors recorded in 1989) and similar quantities of Typhoons. The Typhoon apparently ceased production in Aug 49 (16hp) and Nov 49 (18hp) with Hurricane end dates being Aug 49 (again for 16hp) and May 53 (18hp). So should be Hurricane 18hp.

CougarTim wrote Distinctive side trim. Where are our Aussie ute enthusiasts at?

By the trim and fuel filler, perhaps an Armstrong Siddeley: Link to "www.flickr.com"

By the cocked hoo- er, bonnet perhaps the same car as /vehicle_1506234-Armstrong-Siddeley-Hurricane-1950.html

dsl wrote Agree A-S Ute - looks like a short roof Utility Coupe (August 49+ - 717 made); there was also a longer roof Station Coupe (with two rows of seats in the cabin - May 49+ - 1022 made). Both were UK-made at the request initially of the 2 main Aus A-S dealers, and about 60% of production went to Aus. Production ended 1952 or soon after.

And agree it's likely to be same one as other entry.

Short door confirms this is Utility Coupe, not the longer door Station Coupe - comparison photos here. Station Coupe needed longer door for access to the rear seats, even though they were a 2+2-like bench rather than full seats.
