The latter is most specifically in Batam, one of the islands here whose very known for their Free Trade Zone (FTZ) policy. Bintan and Karimun Islands were the other two whose having that same policy alongside of it. Check this first source. This movie have a 90% of Indonesian crew involved during the filming, per of this source.

When it comes to cars, much like the other Indonesian islands, grey-importers of luxury cars in Batam often do parallel-imports to used cars from other countries, but Batam's FTZ policy eases them up more easier unlike the other islands (except Bintan and Karimun). Their most particular source is Singapore, because of its close distance away from the island. However, what we do know, Singapore were known for importing their used cars from Japan, UK, and less-to-extent Malaysia. Considering to our current Indonesian car import rules here, some of these can be also imported-by-parallel directly from Japan and/or UK.

In current times, Batam have since then embraced mostly importing used cars from other Indonesian islands, most majority of them were imported from Jakarta of the Java island. As Jakarta (for example) being a bustling metropolitan with a bunch of rich individuals, there would be a slight chance of seeing European luxury and exotic cars sold officially here in Indonesia were brought into that island. All of these aforementioned routes will trickle our difficulty even more on these vehicles being listed in this entry, hence I suggest not to put the "Made for" tag without knowing where they were actually came from.

And I can see why it was indeed filmed in Batam, Indonesia; while the movie was supposed to be set in India, some of the scenes filmed from the listed vehicles above were actually fake:

- Their license plates show are not real Indian plates, they got the wrong font and format, while their plate size don't look a bit accurate than the authentic ones.
- The police SUV is rather a fake Indian police car, as proven to it and what's shown in the background, will comment that later in its page.
- The Indian rickshaws are rather per I say very half-authentic than what they were in India, these were most actually modified from Indonesian bajajs.

The third evidence originally confuses me because Batam never have bajaj services in their area but I thought otherwise, I say these were rather mostly used ones imported from Jakarta.
