^I think I see a Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing in the second 'background cars' image.

No idea on the race - anyone able to work out the track?? I tried using the A-H 100S as a search to find an event with a Corvette #90 and something big and brutal #126 - working backwards from http://www.racingsportscars.com/suffix/archive/Austin-Healey/100/S.html?page=21 . 1961 race at Pomona on 12-03-61 gives a #90 Corvette but nothing #128. But without a guarantee that those entry lists are complete or that the event is genuine, I gave up going any further back.

I don't think they mention anything about what race it is. At least some of the race with the Jaguars must have been staged, how else would they have filmed it? There were no on-board cameras in these times. The camera must have been mounted on a pick-up truck or so.
I can probably cut together the race scenes and put on YouTube, when I find the time...

I think the racing footage would be at the Paramount Ranch Raceway in '56 or '57 but I cannot find any numbers that match

^ note that Corvette #90 is entered as 1959 (and Mustang fantasy model years had not been invented in the 1950s).

I still think it looks like the Paramount Ranch track; is it absolutely certain that the Corvette is '59+? It could be possible that the movie shows a montage of different actual racing footage and some scenes made for movie.
