 S.Kubrick avait 28ans quand il a tourné ce film, son premier...on comprends qu'il se soit fait un nom et la carrière que l' on sait après une telle oeuvre. Le film est brillant, rythmé, et d'une très grande beauté plastique.. un chef d'oeuvre de film noir!
A la manière de " je vais vous raconter l' histoire du casse du siècle" il nous emmène avec panache dans un récit haletant , qui bouscule la chronologie sans jouer sur les nerfs du spectateur...Du grand art!
Beaucoup de véhicules US que je laisserai "unknown" en raison de mes très faibles connaissances en la matière, et s'il en est une que je ne louperai pas cette fois-ci, c'est cette adorable MG TD!
En prime ... cet avion :

probablement un Douglas DC7, à hélices bien sûr... ces hélices qui brassent l'air et dispersent tous les rêves...(de la scène finale, le film "Mélodie en sous-sol" de H.Verneuil en fait un remake inspiré et tout aussi efficace)
