Nothing surprising, considering that it (freely) was inspired by American trucks. The very first ones (ZIL 130) had a very impressive design in the spirit of the GMC 550, but later it was abandoned for simplification. So that's enough for someone who doesn't understand well, what exactly is what. -- Last edit: 2020-06-16 01:48:18 |

My theory is that the Cold War isn't happening in the universe of the show. Four seasons of the show and it hasn't been mentioned at all, plus the existence of Soviet cars and trucks in what is hinted to be upstate NY (since so much detail is put into the vehicles, they obviously know that a ZIL truck is very out of place anywhere in 1970s US) and the only major world event from the time that's mentioned is Vietnam, Watergate gets a brief mention in the vacation episode, and real life people are mentioned; Jeffrey Dahmer as a kid even appears in two episodes of season 3 (however he's only called Jeffrey, you gotta pay attention to the name on his dad's nametag), Nixon, and the TV show M*A*S*H is mentioned, but tensions between the US and USSR are never mentioned, nor is the arms race. |

I mean it's not like they have cars that weren't made after 1974 /vehicle_892590-GMC-Vandura-1985.html https://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_875980-Lincoln-Continental-1975.html /vehicle_1398316-Mack-MR.html |

Decent show, though I wish the series finale had actually told what became of each character between the mid-'70s and 2022. |
