Might this be about the ill-fated ferry?

2023 Finnish mini-series about the 1994 sinking of the cruiseferry MS Estonia, one of the deadliest peacetime sinkings of a European ship after the RMS Titanic and the deadliest shipwreck to occur in European waters during peacetime. The sinking occurred as Estonia was passing through the Baltic Sea after midnight on September 28th, 1994. Her bow visor and car ramp failed due to not being designed to handle the rough weather of the night and opened mid-journey, allowing the waters of the Baltic Sea to rush inside, destabilizing the ship and causing her to capsize. Of 989 souls onboard, 852 were lost :( Not a single child younger than 12 survived. Of the vast number of those lost, only 94 of them would ever be recovered.

Convoy of trucks seen in episode 2, too poorly shot to list in addition to looking anachronistic.

This film was shot in a myriad of countries including Finland, Estonia, Sweden, and Germany which is why so few of the vehicles have "Made for" designations. All filming in Belgium was for scenes taking place in the Baltic Sea. No land vehicles appeared in episode 5. This is also the most expensive television production in Finland's history, having required a budget of around €15 million!

Set in 1994.

After nearly 30 years, the car deck was finally entered in 2023 during a salvage mission to recover the ramp. Identifying the vehicles was even explicitly stated to be part of the mission!

Most of the vehicles were obviously twisted and on their sides, but a W124 from Warendorf was captured on film:

According to a customs list I found via Reddit, there were 61 cars and trucks that went down with the ship. I did a plate check on a few Swedish and Estonian ones to see if I could pull something, but predictably came back empty handed.

Lites Studios in Brussels I believe, with the enormous water stage.
This autumn, a miniseries will be released on Netflix, telling a similar story of the 'Heweliusz' ferry, which sank in the Baltic Sea in 1993. All the water scenes were filmed in this studio.

A Dodge, a Pontiac and a Porsche...Would have been interesting to see those.

The Norwegian-registered Subaru is listed as having had the plate XT 60711 (a combination not yet issued), but it's actually XD 60711, which adds up.
It was (or rather is) a blue 1992 Subaru Legacy 2.0 GL 4WD, VIN JF1BF5CL0EJ033952, described as having been struck from the registry 7th of March 1995.
Owner Johan L. Finnanger (1954-1994) did sadly not survive the sinking, neither did his 14-year-old daughter. His wife and stepdaughter also perished. RIP to them all.

It's worth noting that his son, aged 12, survived - and thus became the youngest person to survive the sinking.

The Porsche:

Registreringsnummer OER309
Fabrikat PORSCHE 928
Fordonsstatus Avställd (1989-02-22)
Färg Blå
Fordonsår Uppgift saknas.
Påställt första gången i Sverige Uppgift saknas.
Registreringsdatum Uppgift saknas.
Import/införsel Ja
Identifieringsnummer WP0ZZZ92ZES841453

Should be a 1984 by the VIN. Seems like it was imported in 1989 but was never fully registered. I wonder if it was sold and Mr. Sergei Daniljuk was importing it to Estonia? He did not survive, RIP.

I have ordered the registration papers from the national archive to maybe shed some light on its history.

I will certainly be adding that once it is released. Last year I added another TV production about a ship that sank in the Baltic Sea, the MV Wilhelm Gustloff which is the deadliest ship sinking in recorded history, with at least 9'400 people lost :(
