Is the setting a border crossing? |
◊ 2010-11-19 00:58 |
no, but strangely all the cars in that traffic jam were western imports. |

The series was a co-production with WDR in West Germany, so perhaps the producers didn't want all the cars to be models from the Soviet bloc. |

Yes, for these co-productions they shipped indeed some trucks with West German cars to Czechoslovakia (the cars shouldn't be too strange for Western viewers...). Same they did with this Series: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luzie,_der_Schrecken_der_Stra%C3%9Fe There an Austin Mini had a role, too, and a 1975 VW Passat was visible once, too (I cannot remember more, it's 30 years ago, I've seen that). |

is this series about a fairy? Maybe I'm in the wrong series, but there was a scene in a Czechoslovakian made children-series, where a fairy has bewitched cars, too, so four archbishops, which were sitting in a big car (Tatra 613, I think), were suddenly sitting in a Fiat 500. Somewhere was this scene, I'm sure! And I remember, that then there was a chase-scene with two policemen, after one has said "Hey, four bishops in a 500-Fiat?! There is something wrong with them!" |

You're right, ingo. It's exactly this series. |

ingo: Four archbishops in Fiat 500 are in the movie "Dívka na koštěti" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%C3%ADvka_na_ko%C5%A1t%C4%9Bti |

The IMDB says Dívka na kosteti was made by the same people as Arabela (writer Milos Macourek and director Václav Vorlícek) and both are about magic. Perhaps you're both right and they reused the idea. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067464/ -- Last edit: 2010-11-19 17:06:40 |

There is the whole movie "Dívka na koštěti" on youtube, the scene with Fiat 500 is in this part - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5qEEgpeJEU&feature=related |

Yes, the same team and actors of that classic movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070832/ Without any cars, but a well known "must-be" - every year before Christmas it's aired in the German TV, and many people have to see it every year again. P.S. "Pan Tau" was made by them, too. -- Last edit: 2010-11-19 23:28:15 |

What about the broom - at a least 3 star role? A great clip to watch in a language you can't understand - the plot logic just scrambles your brain. |

A hideous and embarassing reboot-sequel series was made for the ARD in 1994. I might add it when I have time. All episodes of that abomination here: http://www.youtube.com/user/peta22able?feature=watch -- Last edit: 2014-02-12 19:09:27 |

If there aren't interesting cars in it, don't waste your time with that. Better look for movies, which are worth it. |
