 A beautiful, emotional, and visually stunning film by Nobuhiko Obayashi, with cinematography made by Yoshitaka Sakamoto and art direction by Kazuo Satsuya. The film is in both black-and-white and color, and freely drifts between the two. Also, the intro scenes are very cropped and gradually increase to the normal aspect ratio. That's why a couple of vehicle pictures are smaller, as seen in the third thumb. First time I saw the credits rolling in the beginning of a movie.
