Apparently an avant-garde look at the daily hustle and bustle in Manhattan. If holding your camera upside down makes you avant-garde, so be it.

No vehicle plays any role, but I figure there's some archival value to them.

here's an obscured bonus taxi I don't recall seeing in movies very often (as it's always that bloody De Soto):

Mostly because most movies back then were filmed in Hollywood, where DeSotos dominated the market. The few that were actually filmed on location in New York have more variety, including Packards, GM Cabs and this very nice Checker Model Y.
