Currently a rare movie and not many data available. Link to "www.plengpakjai.net" (Thai language)![[Image: imaengda.jpg]](http://pics.imcdb.org/6981/imaengda.jpg) No director and casts data in ThaiFilmDb.com http://www.thaifilmdb.com/th/tt03135 The word แมงดา (mangda) original meaning: 1. a kind of large insect in rice field Link to "www.khiewchanta.com" 2. a kind of crab-like shellfish. http://www.freewebs.com/seythai/thaiexperience.htm Slang meaning = pimp, bad guy Link to "th.w3dictionary.org" Link to "t2.thai360.com" The word ไอ้, in this case, is word used for men, showing imprecation/malediction, contempt or revilement. Then the movie is not about bug man(s) as in the translated title, but pimp / bad guy(s). ไอ้แมงดา (พ.ศ. 2519) <-- If use Thai year พุทธศักราช (พ.ศ.), it is 1976+543=2519. -- Last edit: 2014-06-19 07:28:29 |
