 You know, I remember an interview with Bette Midler where she admitted to having a nervous breakdown after this movie, and claimed the only reason she had one was because she did it for the money.

Indeed, it was not a commercial success due to numerous issues and due to successful IBM PC computers sold at the time.

 If I recall correctly, Mazda appears on the closing credits, which explains why the 626 has a prominent appearance through the film.
