Not really a car but worth a mention is the flying police vehicle:![]() ![]() |
◊ 2005-10-17 00:09 |
There are quite a number of interesting background vehicles, futuristic and 1960s, but capturing those in one frame is near impossible. Have a look for yourself -- the film is worth it by all means! |

I removed this plus the comments from the vehicles list:![]() Comments: IMCDb FR 25-07-2004 à 00:07 En fait, Alfa a créé le concept car volant conduit par Harisson Ford. On y voit l'inscription par endroit, d'ailleurs... Alexander DE 16-10-2005 à 03:25 I have not seen this car in the film. There are quite a number of futuristicly styled cars and trucks plus a few historic ones, but none looked like this model. Have you got any information about this model? I will upload the images from the film later. antp BE 16-10-2005 à 13:16 The French comment above said that Harisson Ford drove this Alfa, so it's strange that you did not found it in the movie ![]() Alexander DE 17-10-2005 à 00:03 It is definitely not in the film. Perhaps it was a design which was never used. Character Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) drove this vehicle: www.imcdb.org/vehicle_12087-unknown.html antp BE 17-10-2005 à 09:49 Maybe it is from another movie ![]() We could delete this page then... Alexander DE 17-10-2005 à 20:46 I would delete it, but wanted to wait for IMCDb's coment, as he obviously placed the image. stronghold EN 2006-02-21 01:10 This looks like a toy...& someone's added Alfa romeo labels.! Alexander DE 2006-02-21 01:20 Thanks for reminding me of that "car". Here is some reference about it and its use in the film: media.bladezone.com/contents/film/production/props/lostandfound/spinner2/two_spinners.php It is obviously flying and therefore we can remove it altogether. I will leave it for the moment, else no one could read what I just wrote! ![]() mii himself 2006-02-23 18:38 who drove this movieboy FI 2006-03-04 21:39 I DIDNT SEEN THIS ON THE FILM Alexander DE 2006-03-05 00:33 Look at the link I gave above. |

Re: the flying police car....They were not just flying, two of them can be seen driving around, one even in close ups. Four were made for the movie: 2 driving (number 44 + 54) 1 aluminium one (to be hung from cables)..same one as seen in those two screencaps above 1 process car (i.e. detailed interior, no exterior for shots of the actors inside the car) The 2 driving ones were build on a VW beetle chassis and engine. Several other vehicles not listed here were made for the movie, all of them driving around. |

The vehicle, "Alfa Romeo" spinner, appears in the film at minute 16 when Deckard and Gaff are on their way to the Tyrell Building. It can be seen flying past Gaff's window. Then the "Alfa Romeo" swoops around a large structure and disappears from view. It is not easy to find. ![]() ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2012-07-26 01:59:25 |

Spinner is listed on IMCDB (here: /vehicles.php?make=Made+for+Movie&model=Spinner , it was re-painted but it's still the same thing and an homage to Blade Runner) but doesn't listed on this page. Maybe it still should be added (at least some of the props were car-based, anyway), so I'll try. It also appeared in "Soldier" (/movie_120157-Soldier.html), I'm currently trying to find a picture for this. |

Is it driven on the ground or does it just "fly"? -- Last edit: 2014-01-14 18:31:48 |
◊ 2014-01-14 18:36 |
It spends some time moving on ground before flying. Some of the practical models used had wheels, as far as I remember. Well, practical wheels. There are wheels anyway, but mainly for decoration... -- Last edit: 2014-01-14 18:39:18 |

Found this browsing on the web. ![]() Not the only model of it and not even the most accurate... But I really want to have this thing for some reason... |

The rule on this site with vehicles in sci-fi movies is it has to be a drivable powered land vehicle to be listed, if it's just an empty shell with no motor inside then it should only be mentioned in the comments. -- Last edit: 2014-01-14 20:33:57 |
◊ 2014-01-14 22:02 |
It is drivable. All the spinners were custom built by Gene Winfield. Though visual effects models were, of course, fakes, real spinners needed engine to be transported. Probably it's just for one pair of wheels, though. Here's information on some of the cars in private collections: Link to "media.bladezone.com" |

Even if empty, if it is looking like a vehicle it could be listed. Especially if it is actually the same one seen (and listed) in Back to the Future. |
◊ 2014-01-16 02:16 |
It is the same one. There is even officially released toy of black variant in Back to the Future toy series (from Japanese company) that lists it as a "future car". A few proofpics: A picture from the set of Back to the Future Part II: http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z292/djrees_2007/spinner.jpg It turns out there are TWO of them in that film, by the way: http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z292/djrees_2007/spinner2er38567.jpg And here is a flying sequence from the Blade Runner: http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z292/djrees_2007/bladerunner.jpg Update: And then I found that someone even already posted it on BTTF II page... It's weird that it was not added until now. -- Last edit: 2014-01-16 02:26:07 |

I really hope that what I just heard about a remake called Blade Runner 2049 is not true because, this is one of the greatest Sci-Fi movies of the 1980s and a remake is highly unwarrented. |

A teaser for Blade Runner 2049 has been released: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haXvp8M9Cog There's a water cannon (?) truck at the beginning, and some custom vehicles towards the end. The film was/is being shot in Hungary. -- Last edit: 2016-12-19 20:38:05 |

This movie seemed to have started a trend of using an interior set that resembles the Mayan design of the Ennis House in Los Angeles. The examples include Beverly Hills Cop 2, Predator 2, The Thirteenth Floor etc. |
