This documentary, filmed in 1980, shows mainly small and micro cars that were popular in Germany in the 1950s. The host, a well known Showmaster, is playing the role of an car mechanic in his garage and leads through the film with small anecdotes.![]() ![]() ![]() |

I will not add all the normal cars that were on the roads in 1980 and can be seen as background cars throughout the documentary (... unless you beg me ![]() But I will post images here for your interest: ![]() A nice size comparison between a BMW 5-series and a Kleinschnittger. ![]() A even then in Germany fairly rare Wolseley 18/85 (1967-71) being passed by a Fuldamobil. ![]() For Mattijs eyes only ... ![]() ![]() An elderly Ford 17M (1969) is following a Maico. In this perspective the Maico looks big.... ![]() A Kroboth flying by an Opel Manta [B]. Here we see the three-door version, which never had a following like the two-door sibling. ![]() An Opel Kadett [B] ... Rallye version! ![]() ![]() A Ford 'Dog-Bone' Escort. ![]() A Volkswagen Golf from the Post Office. They got the first batch of Diesel engined Golfs ... with only one seat installed! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Ford Taunus, Opel Ascona, Ford Granada Turnier, Volkswagen 1300 & 1302 S, and a number of others. ![]() ![]() A pair of very widely used small and mid-sized Mercedes-Benz trucks. ![]() A fairly rare Opel Rekord D Coupé ... and a smaller coupé for Richard in the background. ![]() And finaly proof that even a Fiat Panda is big! ![]() |
