This is a Dennis 'Ace' on a Braidwood body and only produced between 1934 and 1939. Fitted with a 4-cyl, 3.7 liter gasoline engine delivering 60 horsepower. Although it was identified by different years and different apparatus makers in all three episodes it appeared in. This engine also appeared in the ‘High Jinx’ episode of Baa Baa Black Sheep (1.3) airing October 3, 1976 -- Last edit: 2014-05-04 18:38:34 |

Hey! I remember that episode. They lovingly restored it, and were on their way to a parade/car show, when they heard a call over their radio.... ``We should respond" ``You're kidding, right?" ``We are the closest responder" ``Allright."( rings bell) They managed to get people out of the burning building, but the front facade of the building collapsed on-top of their Dennis ``Ace". |

Were Dennis fire engines ever used in the United States? |

According to the book "Emergency!: Behind the Scene" by Richard Yokley and Rozane Sutherland" the Ace was sold mostly in Britain, with some going to New Zealand, Australia, and India. According to company records none were ever sold in the US (p. 97). |

From "The Old Engine Cram" (#5.02) as the title of this episode with role: The last thumbnail shows that this might have the Seagrave Fire Apparatus patent ladder. |

I wonder if this is the same fire truck used in the movie Tobruk from 1967? /vehicle_859219-Dennis-Ace-1934.html |
