This 1936 Dennis Ace with a Braidwood body is ex-Mountain Ash, Wales, chassis 7798, order 36747, delivered April 14, 1936 with a reg of BNY88 (partially seen in its 5 second appearance). The appliance was taken in to the National Fire Service in Aug 1941 and returned to local authority control in April 1948. Mountain Ash ceased to have its own brigade after WW2 and BNY 88 went into Glamorgan Fire Service. It is recorded, that the appliance went out of service in 1965 and ended up with Universal Studios, Hollywood. This movie was filmed in 1966. It would later appear in Emergency! and Baa Baa Black Sheep. -- Last edit: 2018-07-03 18:06:18 |
