All these pictures seem quite dark, though I'm sure you're aware of this, antp.

Yes, my version of the movie isn't perfect, I am not sure of why they look so dark (as the movie looked correct). I thought that it was normal as my monitor is usually a little darker than a new one (it begins to be old).
Maybe that the movie is naturally darker, tough.
Anyway, pictures can be replaced when somebody has the DVD (by the same scenes, I prefer :p)

If I was watching this film on TV and it looked like this, I'd be fiddling with the brightness and contrast settings, it can't really be meant to look this, there's definetely something off about the contrast, though you probably know far more about that kind of thing than I do.

I cheated a little, I modified contrast, that seems to look better. I reuploaded the pictures (except imageshack thumbnails), is it better? (F5 to refresh)

How did you get access to all of the European car license plate information? Is it publicly accessible in Europe?

You can look up UK license plates on these sites:

http://www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/index.jsp

http://www.rac.co.uk/web/vehiclechecks/dvla_lookup/

I don't know about European registrations, the UK isn't completely part of Europe, yet.

There are no real "european" registrations, each country has its own plate system. The only european plates that I know are for people working at european institutions in Belgium (blue numbers on white plates).
There is a way to get info on NL plates, but I do not know how.
For UK plates there is also www.mycarcheck.com that sometimes gives additonnal details (trim level).

And those are just a special type of Belgian plate.

The replacement pics again turned out too dark, had to lighten all of them by 40%.
