280 SE Cabriolet (probably 3.5 or 4.5) W111. |

There were thoughts of putting the 4.5 litre V8 in the [W 111] as well, but it was considered too expensive for the short time it had left until it was replaced by the [W 107]. As far as I understand, there is no outside differences between the later 280 SE and the 280 SE 3.5, but I'm most willing to change my point of view. Edit: According to http://www.heckflosse.nl/prodccv.htm the production numbers for the late 280 SE versus the 280 SE 3.5 speaks very much in favour of the 280 SE 3.5. MY 1970: 613 made of the 280 SE compared with 3.300 made of the 280 SE 3.5 My 1971: 68 made of the 280 SE compared with 1.026 made of the 280 Se 3.5 I believe this is very likely a 280 SE 3.5. -- Last edit: 2017-01-13 15:10:22 |
