Wait a minute...That model in Italy wasn't marketed as Ami 8 Break(such in France),but as Ami 8 Week End(so was advertised by Italian motor magazine and sales brochures, but if that name don't appears never on the name logo on the bodies of ones imported in Italy;Week End was a choice of Italian Importer,Citroen Italia, based just in Milan--movie location of car illustrated--,city of Italy where us have the high concentration of Citroen vehicles),seems for no use the term"Break",in that period,at least in Italy, was been always more associed at Peugeot and Simcas(in that period still concurrent Brands),rather than Citroens(larger ID Break sold in Italy,e.g.,were advertised as ID Familiare) PS BTW,Citroen Ami 8 Week End lasted in sales in Italy thru 1969 to 1978(the following,overpowered,1973 Ami Super--GS engine-powered--Break were named in Italy, obviously,Ami Super Week End) PS2 that car was the demonstration that Fiat don't own priority in Italy in exploiting the Week End name(but if Fiat spelled it in one word, just for make a difference with same term used years before by Citroen Importer:they wrote Weekend--since the 1984 Regata--,not Week End) -- Last edit: 2007-04-05 16:01:07 |
