I was confused when I was watching this episode. Shape of the logo looks like Lancia, so as the lack of lettering on the chromed stripe but since it's USA it should be Chrysler or Dodge. |

Chrysler Town and Country is sold in selected European countries as Lancia Grand Voyager with a selection of Diesel or Petrol engines available. |

The logo looks very much like a Lancia but just covered up so it's a Lancia Voyager, not a Chrysler. http://gtcarlot.com/colors/car/73054350.html |

Maybe they gave the producers a debadged pre-production or test vehicle of Lancia version to avoid hidden advertising or something like that? Anyway it lacks also the corsive Voyager script on the left. -- Last edit: 2020-11-09 23:03:36 |

There were prototype "Lancia Grand Voyager" test vehicles that lacked the cursive script and had Grand Voyager embossed in the chrome trim strip: https://www.carscoops.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/MSCHN_Lancia-0.jpg It looks like this car even has Lancia logos on the wheel centers. It's bizarre. If it's product placement by Chrysler, why not loan the show an actual Town & Country? It's a popular show, could be a good opportunity - except the episode's plot played to the stereotypical uncoolness of minivans (second child on the way, time to surrender and just buy a minivan...). So maybe not a message Chrysler wants to encourage. If it's not product placement and the show producers are trying to obscure the car's branding, why not just cover the Chrysler logos like Hollywood usually does? Why go to the trouble of not only covering the Chrysler logos, but also adding Lancia logos, and then covering those too? |

don't know.. maybe that mystery will end up one day in one of the thousands of " Mysteries that Hollywood does not want you to know " ( or any alternate title ) videos on YouTube... maybe they thought of a Lancia minivan at first so it wouldn't be associate to Chrysler ( kind of.. ) but then backed down and covered the logo as the show might be popular in Europe too.. . link not working ( but they say temporary error ) -- Last edit: 2020-11-10 01:33:40 |

2016 episode so it's not even like it was a new model at the time... Maybe a prop company ended up with one of the development cars (which would be useful for foreign settings) or rebadged a Chrysler as a Lancia for a film set in Europe? -- Last edit: 2020-11-10 01:43:36 |
