Doble Steam Motors Corporation went into liquidation in April 1931 following stock manipulation which put them into huge debt. The factory was taken over by Besler Brothers, sons of the chairman of the New Jersey Central Railroad, who do not appear to have made any more cars, but experimented with a steam powered aeroplane.

While not questioning your identification, I do, therefore, question the date of 1935. Various pictures of this(?) car appear to attribute a date of 1925. The model E coachwork was made by Walter Murphy of Pasadena. Model E prices ranged from $8,800 to $11,200, eight body styles were offered. Only 45 examples of the car and its successor, the Model F, were built between 1924 and 1931.

Following the closure, Abner Doble travelled to Europe, where he worked with Sentinel in England, and Henschel in Germany, working in both cases on trucks and/or railway equipment.

As well as Wiki, I have checked this information with two other sources, both being books in my possession, one of which appears to be the source of some of the information in Wiki, since it was printed in 1987.
