Looks rather like a c.1935 Riley 12/4 Kestrel to me. |

I think that you are correct, or at the very worst, very close, and that is only the possibility that it is a larger engine in the Kestrel coachwork. |

I am fairly sure that this particular car is a 1935 Riley 15/6 Kestrel. Specifically, BTT 988. I heard that not too long after being used for this film, it was broken up and rebuilt as a two-seat Special. Quite a shame. -- Last edit: 2019-07-19 02:12:20 (dsl) |

Ooooh! A disagreement between Riley experts. Which one speaks the truth?? |

If Gingie knows the car, then they must speak the truth! If so, I had it confused with BTT 988 - which also appeared in a period piece. Strikingly similar setting & car - I've since gleaned that this photo was taken at Royal William Yard, Plymouth in 2003. I couldn't tell you the name of the production.![]() |
