This is an early ('56-'65) CJ5 dressed up like an M38A1. Note the JEEP stamped into the side panel where an M38A1 would have the power access port. The front shackle springs of the CJ, the exposed headlights and parking lights of the CJ, and the front bumper with slots for a front license plate. Not sure when the style changed but the passenger seat mount is also CJ. The vehicle does have front lifting shackle mounts and top bow hardware added to resemble the M Series but it is a CJ5. |
