 My first thought was that it could be something out of the Pro Formula Mazda series, which, as far as I know, does run at Long Beach, where this scene is clearly filmed.

 The proportions don't quite fit a Pro Formula Mazda car. The closest match to this I could find is the Lola B08/20 World Junior series car: http://lolacars.co.uk/racecar.asp?RaceCarId=7
