How do you know that? Date of first registration and date of manufacture aren't the same you know. |

But it's a brand new car - it likely directly left the factory and was driven into the city for registration. |

You don't know what you're talking about. When a car is completed it usually takes a day or two to test it, then it sits around several days at the factory grounds waiting to get shipped/transported, that's another few days. When it's reached its destined city, it takes a few more days for the dealers to pick up the cars, transport them, get the paperwork done, testing them, making final adjustments etc., then the cars spend more days at the dealership waiting for a customer to buy it, get the paperwork done, unless it's been on a waiting list. And with waiting lists there's still more paperwork etc. So, it takes at least 1-2 weeks and up to several months to manufacture a car and finally get it registered. |

I bet someone (Gamer?) could have dug up the VIN to end the discussion |

I wish! These are Soviet plates - we can't get VINs for them. All the major Soviet bases are down except the NOMER database, which requires intervals or it 'overheats'. And now we can only search Soviet plates from Moscow, Novosibirsk, Rostov and Sverdlovsk. |
