Looks more like light reflecting on the swage line all XJ40s had. I suspect an actual chrome strip would be a bit more obvious. Wrong wheels for a Vanden Plas too, assuming they haven't been changed that would make this an XJ6/Sovereign. |

I know the wheels aren't standard for VDP but they could have been changed. |

And you can paint a pin stripe or even attach some chrome to the side of a car that didn't have it to start with. I still don't think there's a strip on this (notice how the brightness completely disappears towards the back of the car) but if you are sure there is one go ahead and name it a Vanden Plas. |
