I have never seen a Mercury Sable used as a Police Car before… Can anyone tell what year model it is??? |

Meh, its animation, they can do anything they want. I've seen the Taurus used as a squad car, so why not it's rebadged cousin? I even recall hearing of a Tempo used as a patrol car. It is the 'Fish-Faced' Generation, from 1996 to 1999. |

Seems to me that the Taurus/Sable would have been really popular squad cars, as they were more economic then the Crown Victoria's and Caprice's and still had a 300HP+ V8 (and a decent V6) engine (SHO Taurus).. |

The SHO never had 300hp, it maxed out at 234 (which was actually a small V8). |

Plus the Crown Vics were and still are the most popular because of their durability, RWD, room and power. Plus since, besides the styling and a couple of mechanical updates they've been the same basic car since 1979, so they're cheap to build, buy and maintain. An SHO would never had been a good police car because of the high base price and high level of luxury equipment that wouldn't be practical for the average police application. |

Kind of anachronistic that a 1996 Mercury Sables was still being used as a cop car in 2031. |
