Not 1974? The 1973 brochures still show old logo: http://lesrenaultdepapier.fr/r12.htm Also R16 had new one since 1974... |

OK, I can agree. However I found British market R12s with suffix L (so first registered before July 1973) and new logo. Maybe with grill changed after minor colision? ![]() |

Or they did change this during the 1973 indeed and it is not "covered" by any brochure. Something similar seems to be with R15/17. There are cars (on period pics) which already have new front logo, but still old rear badges. -- Last edit: 2015-08-24 14:45:08 |

OK, I should treat more critically the 1973 Renault brochures in case of front badging: 1973 model: http://lesrenaultdepapier.fr/CouverturesCatas/1973-%2046%20429%2003%2003.JPG 1973 model ("show car" at Salon de l'Automobile '72): /vehicle.php?id=850776 So 1973 for this badge has to be correct 1st year. |

![]() Usually the makers didn't take new photos for facelifts, they kept the old one or retouched them with https://fredspencils.files.wordpress.com/2013/08/staedtler-usa.jpg?w=950 (the youngsters here will not know them). |

"Or retouched them" - the new logo is a big event, they wouldn't ignore it IMO. In fact the 1973 MY Renault brochures don't have to be wrong, simply 1973 MY could start (in 1972) with old logo, which soon has been replaced by new one. |

Forget it, nothing is a big event for car-sales-brochure-makers, a shitty wee logo not at all. Two VW-examples: 1) how to create RHD-versions? Just mirror the photos. 2) how to create "Made for NL"-versions? Just paint the WOB-plate yellow 3) how to create "Made for ZA"-versions? Just replace the photo of a little white boy with the photo of a little black boy No kidding, all these examples are true. -- Last edit: 2015-10-09 19:24:20 |

Something tells me that all these examples are related to one 1970s model - the one unwanted by its manufacturer, so it is not surprise that they didn't care about its promo materials. ![]() Of course in brochures you can meet sometimes "wrong cars", but back to 1973 Renault - if they really already had new badge and placed on brochure closeup on the old one, then it is example of less common inaccuracy. I mean in case of factory brochures, as the ones prepared by importers on their own can be late with such "details". |

No, your inner-brainish voices are wrong. 1) goes for all early-1970ies VW-brochures, 2) is from the 80ies and 3) from the 90ies ![]() |

![]() Yes, 1) was common also to other manufacturers. |
