Plate XK9610 returns: 1998. First registered: 18-Jun-1998. It is indeed built in New Zealand, based on the VIN: 7A3CG5640WNVE0065 Other details: VTI-L trim, 2.3L 4-speed automatic. Interestingly, here in Australia, we sourced our 1998 Accords from the USA, not New Zealand (which you would assume would have been cheaper!). However Accords from 1999 onwards in Australia were all imported from Thailand. -- Last edit: 2018-12-24 06:59:05 |

Wikipedia claims that the 6th gen Accord was assembled there only in 1998. -- Last edit: 2015-08-05 06:56:00 |

Curiously, it was assembled in New Zealand according to the VIN and Wikipedia ![]() en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Accord_(sixth_generation)#Americas,_Australia,_New_Zealand_and_Southeast_Asia Link to "en.wikipedia.org" |

I don't know when you added the VIN, but it does confirm that this is NZ-made. I find you to be pretty trustworthy, but sometimes we need confirmation of information, especially for odd "Built In"s. As for the comment deleting, a lot of times you'll make a comment about certain information, like details that ID trim levels and once the edit is made, you delete the comment. Then the next admin looks at the page and sees "XYZ" in the extra info line and wonder why it is there, then they will delete that line. Then you get mad at us because a change is made, but it was you who deleted the reference comment. Not sure if the recent changes were made from a Mass Change or were done individually. I recently asked for the ones for the US market to have the "Built In" removed. It's possible that all Accords and CRVs were done and not just the ones for the US market. |

Accurate chassis code is [CG5] by the 6th digit in the VIN. |

Trusted about keeping your comments, not about your knowledge. Admins are discouraged from listing stuff the way you want because you will eventually remove the comment. The comments need to stay if you don't want your stuff changed by the next admin who sees the entry and wonders why the entry was listed as per your request. The comments need to be on each page individually and not be deleted. 'These too:' type of mass changes aren't done the way you want them to be done if you will post on a single page and keep deleting your comments. Keep your comments there or request mass change on the forum and keep the post there so people see it. Otherwise things won't work on their own. Yet you just deleted the first comment I replied to and now it looks like I'm talking to myself. -- Last edit: 2020-01-29 09:52:24 |

So, for every vehicle I add to the site, you're saying I then have to make a comment explaining - "it's X year because.. it's X model because... it's X trim because..." ? Because if I didn't make that comment, how would anyone know that it's accurate? Basically, every single vehicle on this site needs a comment explaining what it is, according to you? |

That's what other users do and it's how the website works. If someone sees X trim or X year there, and wonders why it was added with no further info provided, they will eventually either question it or remove it. That's why I recommend keeping your comments there. Your plate info helps or trims and what you provide, and I will gladly add it when you provide it, if you keep your comment there for further reference. |
