Can be either a October 1970+ Series 2 2000 TC or it's replacement from October 1973 the 2200 TC. Any way to seperate these two?

No, except that 2200 had brushed nylon seat trim. So 2nd thumb might mean 2200??

2200s were never imported to Italy: Therefore a 2000 TC.

Seems that in 1974 a batch of special TCs was built (known as Series 868), split between Italy and Nigeria with 2-litre engines instead of 2.2 - presumably for tax reasons in Italy - not apparent why Nigeria needed them as well, but it also got a batch of 100 special 2-litre SCs (Series 869) at the same time. 812 Series 868 TCs built 1974-77 - of the 560 built in 1974, 454 went to Italy - unclear if any more went there 75-77.

So, because of upholstery, I thin this is a 74 Italian batch 2000TC.

Tax reason was the reason for Italy. Thanks, dsl. I didn't know that in UK the 2200 had superseded the 2000. The latter and the 3500 P6 were available for Italy till the launch of the SD1.
