I came here after watching this on local national TV here as I was curious what the car was in that dodgeball history film scene (I'm interested in classic cars like these). After gathering the information here and doing some Google searches, I think this might be a 1946 Chrysler Windsor. I found this YouTube video ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJs06C0W_LM ); pause at around 0:57/0:58 and notice the similarities of the car from that angle and the shot here. The only difference I see here is the paint job, but otherwise I think I'm looking at the same car here. |

^From this angle, all 1946-1948 Chrysler models - Royal, Windsor, Saratoga, and New Yorker - are pretty much identical. |

also can very possibly be a 46 Desoto. Id guess Chrysler Windsor or Desoto |

Definitely a Chrysler. The DeSoto has different tail lamps and trunk hardware. |
