The origin of this Pontiac is Canada , not the US.It is a Canadian Pontiac Fleetleader, built in Canada's Oshawa GM plant in Ontario on the Chevrolet chassis. They may be recognised by their shorter wheelbase and fewer lateral trim.

So,a Chevy masked as Pontiac for CDN(like Seventies'Pontiac Astre,a locally-made and rebadged Chevy Vega for Canadian drivers)

I haven't seen this movie, but judging by the pictures, That car is a 1951 Pontiac. It doesn't appear to be a Canadian version either. It has Pontiac tail lights. The Canadian version shared the Chevrolet tail lights. It also has the Indian head trim on the rear quarter panels which the Canadian version didn't have either. The car appears to be a base model 1951 Pontiac Silver Streak due to the lack of side trim.

Also considering that the movie was filmed in the USA Arizona & Maine, I would venture to say it supports my information above that it's an American 1951 Pontiac.

But the Astre was sold in the USA too, right?

^Yes, but after a delay. Astre debuted in Canada in 1973 and in the US in 1975.

Is this listed correctly? Filmed in USA. Still a Fleetleader?

If this car is really a Fleetleader, it is actually a very clever choice of car for this character, Chief Whitemoon; the Pontiac car brand was named after an 18th century Odawa Indian chief and the Fleetleader was a Canadian model and Canada's capital city of Ottawa was loosely named after the Odawa tribe :)

EDIT: Turns out the car is a '51 Chieftain. Even more appropriate!

I can bury the hatchet once and for all and say that this is not a Fleetleader, but a standard Chieftain. And indeed a 1951 model and not a 1952.
