Aus assembly started in 64 and used normal UK Morris 1100 Mk1 4 door body with vertical rear lights for [1] 1100 (1098cc 64-69), [2] 1100 Auto (1098cc, 67-68) [3] 1100 S (1275cc, 67-69) [4] 1100 S Auto (1275cc, 69 only); as far as I can tell these never got UK Mk2 grille shape, and no Austin-badged ADO16 built in Aus. Replaced in 69 by Morris 1500 (and 1300 Auto) YDO15 with Mk2 sloping rear lights, plus a full width front grille and flush door handles. Also the Nomad YDO9 - a 5 door 1500 (and 1300 Auto) hatch with a Maxi-ish rear onto normal 1500 cabin and front - I think this was a rejected Longbridge design. |
