This is indeed a W 113, but there's a very thin line between the various models of the Mercedes range. The padding above the instruments is rounded at the corners, while there's a slighyty lower bit in the middle http://www.flickriver.com/photos/52124449@N07/6077571152/ . The W 108 didn't have that lower bit in the middle http://www.midlands-classic-mercedes.co.uk/mercedes-w108-servicing.html while the W 111 coupés did have similar padding on some models (from this angle) but didn't have the 'plain' door cards of the W 113 http://www.motoringinvestments.com/Z118.htm but with a chromed side strip http://www.worlduph.com/images/root_images/111convdoor1.JPG . Some W 111 Coupés and W 100 had wood above the instruments, but the W 100 also had wood on top of the door cards. The black inside mirror replaced the chromed one in September 1967, a few mounths before the introduction of the 280 SL model in December 1967. I believe this is likely a 1968-71 Mercedes 280 SL [W 113.044] http://wiki.mercedes-benz-classic.com/index.php/Kategorie:W113 . -- Last edit: 2014-12-09 10:19:37 |
