Looks like a 1998-2002 LX model. |

Mythbuster debunked this with an actual CVPI. Cant do this in real life and that rear part of the frame is not even an actual Ford part. Looks like something made in the stunts department. |

Could he even start driving with the whole drivetrain disattached? |

That scene was copying the scene from "American Graffiti" (1973) when a 1961 Ford Galaxie police car that was about chase a car full of rowdy teens... only to have the rear axle ripped out from the police car. -- Last edit: 2020-03-21 15:54:39 |

Yes, I noticed part of the axle had something that looked like leaf spring suspension. I'm pretty sure it would have coil springs. |

There is a child tether anchor present. Negates 1998-1999. The keyless entry pad was available on the [P73] or [P74]. |

I want to put this one thing out there. I own this car, two cars were used here, I own the one in good shape it still sports the nebraska state Police Livery which I had the car sanded repainted and I had the livery reapplied, the vehicle is a P71 the vin verifies that, the car is a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor P71 SAP Car, before the movie it was owned by the Mentor Ohio Police Department. I have Proof of when it was in service and an order form when the town ordered these cars for regular patrol vehicles which yes seems odd for an SAP car but this is because in that town they were (3) bought as unmarked vehicles to replace 96 Caprices but the county decided unmarked patrol cars shouldn't be legal in the county so they were used for patrol. the car is living it's best life now and I regularly attend fcv events with it. |
