Don't think it needs to be named Skyline GT-R???

It's a GT-R, I'm not sure that 2.6 is even a model name for the Skyline.

"my car check" does not know it, and on RAC website the model field is blank :D

What's this about the RAC site?

Is this any better than the actual DVLA site? Although the main problem with that is you need to know the exact company that made the car and this can be a real pain when looking up any model connected with British Leyland or Austin Rover as the company shuffled brand names loads of times. Minis in particulary can be really awkward because the car has been produced under a variety of makes and the DVLA sometimes gets the chronology a bit mixed up, filing some Minis under Morris when they weren't made by Morris.

Like for "my car check", the RAC site does not require the make. It also gives model name (except for this Nissan :D) but it does not list all the cars that the DVLA site has.

But the DVLA site gives you more information, like engine size which is more useful for things like BMWs and Mercedes.

I didn't say that you should use RAC instead of DVLA, it is just an additionnal site that can sometimes be useful for model name
