1998 Dodge Intrepid. But since the film was released in 2001, then it could be a 2001 Intrepid. -- Last edit: 2010-03-19 13:37:52 |

Sure, especially when movies are great place to promote automobile manufacturers' new cars. |

And it came from a rental company which rents out new cars |

It did not really come from a rental company, since they crashed it |

You know what bothers me? I've never seen that body style Intrepid in real life in that shade of green. -- Last edit: 2006-09-12 05:50:05 |

Yeah me neither come to think of it... must have been custom for the movie |

I'm pretty sure that was a factory colour (although it might not've been common). |

Yeah but what fun would that be if they did? |

In the movie they (the rental car company) called it a Caprice. Odd. -- Last edit: 2006-12-21 00:18:05 |

I think that was just a suggestion. He said "we have a full-sized Caprice..." He was an inexperienced trainee anyways, so who knows? |
explorer4x4 ◊ 2006-12-21 03:36 |
Yea. But they said they'd take it. Probably just 'inexperienced.' |

Maybe they didn't have the Caprice (which would be 5 years old at the youngest) and gave them the next available vehicle. I know when we rent cars when they run out they give us a different replacement (we rented a minivan once and they gave us an SUV). |

Maybe, probably. |

That Intrepid is most likely either a 1998 or 1999. I have a 2000 Intrepid, and the only way I can tell the difference is that for 2000 the base model Intrepids went from a 15" wheel to a 16" wheel. So the wheels are a bit bigger, and the hubcaps are a different style. Also, I think that shade of green was available from 1998-2000, maybe 2001, but it wasn't all that popular. At least, in 2000, there was a dark green available that was close, if not that same color. Sometimes film/video contrast can make a color on the screen look different in real life. When I bought my 2000, I wanted that dark green, but they didn't have any in stock. There was a really light grayish-green too, but I didn't care for it as much. It just looked like dirty gray. I ended up getting a silver one. -- Last edit: 2007-09-05 00:42:39 |

i see ones like these, and ones with fog lights on the front bumper. was that only during specific years? or was it just an option and some have them and some dont? |

that is odd |

He actually says "we have a mid-sized Caprice" also, eventually the two of them settle on "whichever is closest to the door" |

Quick note: From 1999-01 Intrepids had foglamps in place of the vents at far left. |
