According to DVLA, it's from 2005. The vehicle details for RL54 DSU are: Date of Liability 01 12 2006 Date of First Registration 09 02 2005 Year of Manufacture 2005 |

Does date of liability mean when the car was written off? |
◊ 2008-03-12 22:03 |
I think it means the date when the road tax expires. |

In this case, in 11/2006 the liability was 12/2006, so it at that time the car was not "scrapped" if that's what you ask. If you recheck now on DVLA it gives 12/2008 |

That's not a Cooper Works. It has no air intake on the bonnet above the main grill. |

You are wrong @sheff . The air bonnet intake belongs to Cooper S, not to Cooper. That's a complete different car. The John Cooper Works tuning kit set up was factory available for both models, Cooper and Cooper S. More info : http://www.thecomminity.com/foro/3972-kit-tuning-jcw-r50.html |

So, it's a MINI Cooper "R50" with aerodynamic body kit, but there's no way to know if its a John Cooper Works or not. The aerodynamic body kit was sold as John Cooper Works body kit in many countries (as UK) but it's not the correct name. In 2005 was normal to buy the full kit (body+engine tuning) but there was a metal John Cooper Works badge to identify them. That badge isn't visible on that car so we can't be sure if it has the engine tuning or not. |
