Looks like a passenger version, and those are post-1973 bumpers. |

yes, a 1973+ T2b. Basic trim trim line, no extras an a colour free of extra charge, so I think, it's rather the Transporter-version with side windows and seats, but not the Bus-version. |

Can't tell you exactly the difference between Transporter and Bus, but this one has some kind of lining ('Kunststoff-Verkleidung' http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/lit/73bus/Seite21.jpg) in cargo/passenger compartment. So rather a Bus, no Bus L for sure. MY1975-79 anyway. |

Hmm, actually not really. The problem is, that back then at Volkswagen every litte shitty extra option was available extra, and not in complete packages. Sure, for every model there was the "L"-trim line - but you also could take a basic model and order justs parts of the "L"-extra-range. This "Bulli" (the T2 has the same nickname as the T1 in Germany) here may have the plastic panel-covers inside - but other Bus-typical features as the chrome-hubcaps and side windows with a little opening are missing. It's a long long time ago, I drove in a T2b-Bus (in 1990, the only left over T2b in my Bundeswehr-unit), but I remember, that it was with 8 seat-places and these side-panels, too. But it was for sure the Transporter-trim line, none Bus-feature at all. Otherwise: the military versions were partly different to the civil trim lines... |
