And the sinister smugglers are the West Germans? :D All West German plates here are fakes, but all DDR-plates are originals.

Which border crossing point (if an authentic one)? Very surely to the DDR. Not to West Germany (due the many DDR-cars).

 Hrensko/Bahratal (F172 from Dresden to Decin)? This crossing point was also a Transit-crossing for Western citizens.

But others at Hrensko/Bahratal? The background fits (valley of the river Elbe/Labe) with the mountains around. Plus the many authentic DDR-cars, which had no access to Austria either.

And /vehicle_626360-Skoda-105-Typ-742-1977.html appears to be at a border post in Bratislava (see the thumbnail.

P.S. /vehicle_626363-Mercedes-Benz-O-302.html as well.

Err, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bayerisch_Eisenstein is in the West ;) Think about the "Bayerisch" = "Bavarian" - nowhere outside of Bavaria anyone wants to have something "bavarian" in his name :p
