Article in Classic and Sportscar (UK magazine) March 2012 issue p115 on CV8 has info on the Baron car. Jensen supplied a 1965 Oyster Grey Mk3, CEA 580C [#104/2303]. Car still survives though off the road under slow restoration - DVLA details are: Date of Liability 01 01 2000 Date of First Registration 23 01 1996 Year of Manufacture 1965 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 6276cc CO2 Emissions Not Available Fuel Type PETROL Export Marker N Vehicle Status Unlicensed Vehicle Colour GREY Vehicle Type Approval Not Available. Also at /vehicle.php?id=563579 , /vehicle.php?id=454750 , /vehicle_23250-Jensen-CV8-104-2303-1965.html . Also for info - total production exactly 500, including 10 LHD; there was 1 convertible and one 4wd to test the oily bits of the later FF. Mk1 - 69, Mk2 - 250, Mk3 - 181. Edit - reverting this one to Mk2 despite the C&S claim, as Mk3 (July 65+) had equal-sized headlights and no chrome surround on recess. Also noted from http://www.richardcalver.com/article_cv8.htm that [104/xxxx] cars were Mk1 and Mk2 only - Mk3 was 112 or 113 or 114. -- Last edit: 2014-09-24 19:15:34 |

richardcalver.com is a mine of information. 500 C-V8s built 1962-66 (I remember how great the new cars looked on the company's stand at the 1962 Earls Court Show). Alas, the C-V8 FF prototype confirmed as broken up. Please can the Database insert the ' - ' which is correct. |
