Yes - certainly until the 1990s, but then disappeared - probably squeezed out by supermarket petrol expansion. Never a big player but probably a steady smaller share - I remember a couple of Fina stations in Birmingham until I left in the 80s. BTW, ELF was fairly successful in UK in 80s/early 90s - cheapest petrol in south Birmingham for many years, so my dad used them all the time. |

In Germany Fina was likely common in the North-Western parts. Yes, their logo since the 60ies is a tribute to the Wankel-engine: Link to "de.wikipedia.org" It was changed during the Wankel-euphory back then. In ther German Wiki-article I've read, that this Belgian company was originally founded in 1920, to control the German oil-and raffinery-industry after WWI |
