![]() 1971 made-for-TV war drama about an American soldier sent to Norway during World War II to smuggling out a defecting German scientist formerly part of the German atomic bomb project but before they can escape, they are captured and sent to a P.O.W. camp in a high-walled castle on the German-Swiss border. Aiming to escape for the Gestapo figures out who the man is, our soldier bands together with the other prisoners to build a glider, later dubbed the Colditz Cock, in secret that will be used to escape the castle. Based loosely on the true story of prisoners at Colditz Castle who actually did build a glider in secret but it wasn't completed until after D-Day and the forces holding the Castle surrendered. Starring Doug McClure, Rene Auberjonois, Richard Basehart, Max Baer Jr., Chuck Connors, Don Knight, and Tom Skerritt. The glider during take-off ![]() Set in 1943 London and Germany but filmed at Universal Studios Hollywood. Airdate: September 18th, 1971 |
