Was the technic of the US assebled GTI identical with the European Golf GTI? 1976-1982 they had the 1.6 liter engine with 110 hp, then 1.8 liter with 112 hp. The car on the pic has the "Carat"-alloys, which in Europe were offered as an extra option for the Golf II, also the Passat and Santana (both named "Quantum" in the USA), but not for the Golf I/Rabbit - o.k., you can change them easily, size and bolts are identical. -- Last edit: 2009-04-12 16:25:40 |

Its a US GTI (83-85), all original (Wheels), assembled in US, 1.8L, 95 DIN HP, Typ 17, technical mixture of Types 17 and 19 |
