It is currently up for Auction by RM Sotheby's sale of vehicles from a famous Los Angeles foreign car "Junkyard". They Identify it as a 1936 Mercedes 290, Chassis 136200. It is still wearing the UK plates seen in the photo above. It is in derelict condition, dented front fenders, center light on radiator and radiator star missing, damaged interior, flat tires...but it is pretty much all there. No reserve auction, estimate is $20-30,000. Link to "rmsothebys.com" -- Last edit: 2024-10-14 21:47:13 |

They are rare in the U.S. and apparently a midrange model. So I wonder what it would be worth to a collector as well as its restored value. Certainly it's not one of the multi-million dollar 540K cabriolets. |
