Looks like it didn't last until 1994. ![]() |

If I remember correctly, some news reporters in the movie say that it's a footage from a car bomb assasination attempt on an animal scientist in 1990, so it was as good as dead even before 1994. -- Last edit: 2012-06-07 01:21:13 |

Talbot Avenger Estate on right (6th car in front of the Bristol 410). |

Bristol is 'worth to list' as someone might say. I thought it was a distorted Volvo but it seems dsl is correct. |

I'll make it a page. |

For the Avenger, too? It's not really common and -more important- it's dsl-ish. |

Thanks, ingo. Possibly more likely to be a Chrysler rather than Talbot (I can't check when the estate was dropped), but we ain't got no estates of either brand. |

Looks at first sight more like a GL than GTi? |

It showed up as a GTI on HPi check, though. |

I had same doubts as tali - I can't see any red stripes in bumper for instance. Also looks like a 5 door, which was much later in UK than 3 door (but can't check when it arrived as am away from home). |

I cannot see the wider plastic wheel arches. O.k., they may have flown away, but there are no red stripes in the bumper either. The 1781ccm-engine was indeed originally for the Golf GTI, beginning with the last Golf I GTI's, but then it was taken for other models, too. I had this machine in my 1987 Passat Variant GT. -- Last edit: 2012-06-08 21:59:38 |

Let me guess: Passat was underpowered? |
◊ 2012-06-08 22:19 |
Naah, it was fine, as the 32B was still quite lightweight, compared with the later Passats. O.k., it has lost power due the wider 195-tires and the catalyzer. Indeed my fathers 1981' Passat LS Fastback with the catalyzer-less 75hp-1.6 liter-engine, 165-tires and without weighting luxoury equipment was a real nippy car. |

Anyways, goodnight for today, see ya later. The night will be short, before 5 in the morning I want to be on the road again. My favourite car-event in the year is waiting: http://www.oldtimermarkt-bockhorn.com/ ![]() |
